FreeCommander 2007.1

FreeCommander Version 2007.10a is an alternative to the standard windows file manager. With this program you can perform every action needed to manage your data.

It´s portable, so you can take it, just copying the installation directory on a CD, Pen Drive or a floppy disk.

FreeCommander Version 2007.10a is multilingual, supports 10 languages.

The main screen is divided in two panels, each one portraying the info related to one drive.

Under the File Menu you will be able to View, Edit, Copy, Move, Delete, Wipe (secure delete), Change Case, Rename or Compare Files. You can also pack groups of files using the .ZIP format, protecting them with passwords, creating self-extract .EXE files or splitting the resulting archive in several parts, in order to acomodate them in multiple discs. The choosen files on a panel will result in an archive file in the other panel. Of course, using this program you can also unpack .zip files.

You can split the panels using tabs, and arrange them as you like. You can even get a desktop snapshot (the third snapshot in this review was taken using that feature).
